Had this guy around for a few years now at my place in thorndale. Decided to take him out so my set up is for a north wind and waited for the right fronts to get slipped in on him . This was my 3rd sit . He had been in on all three 20 yards or less but never gave me the shot. He always would put other deer in front and beside him it seemed like. If those deer would move ...he would move . Or he would stand there facing me the whole time . I quickly realized It was going to be a split second shot , so the wait was on. It was getting late , i didnt think he would turn for me again and was already planning on the following morning to be back . It wasnt long after that , he finally turned slightly quarterd to me and threw his head up and looked back over his opposite shoulder . I was sat ready for him and let it fly . I drilled him in the armpit with a rage trypan and blew out the oposite shoulder , almost cutting the front leg in half, and stuck in the ground. Went smooth thru the heart. I did not see but a drop of blood where he had been standing but i knew the shot felt good. It was dark and i worked very slow to pick up blood. By the time i got to 60 yards it was pouring out of him . He made it another 50 yards b4 it was all over for him . Was a good bowhunt on old smart deer .
