I have hunted all 3 weekends since the season opened and I’ve been here this time since Friday. My kids were on fall break from school so my daughter went with my wife to New York for a girls trip. So my son and I headed to the lease.
Friday my son was able to kill a Cull 7 point. The last two years he has hunted in his Halloween costume and killed bucks in them. So this will probably be a tradition for a while.

Well since that hunt things have been slow. Moon has kept the deer moving all night. We have been seeing deer but nothing mature.
I was down to my last two sits before I was going to have to leave and I would be gone for a couple weeks. Right at 6:00 last night my son said big buck and he knows what a big buck looks like. It took 5 minutes for this buck to step out for me to see him. I didn’t waste any time.
He stopped at 25 yards and quartering away and I drew slowly. When I did my elbow rubbed the popup tent and the buck turned to look at me. I was now at full draw and I settled my pin behind his shoulder and just as I released he took a step.
I saw my arrow go through him but knew it was a little back. I didn’t want to chance it at all so I called in a blood tracker.
When all was said and done deer ran less than 50 yards. I got liver and one lung.
I have always wanted a main frame 10 and now I got one!!!
