Elk rifle minimum question.

Personally, I don't want a doubt in my mind when i'm preparing to take that shot. I will have a set up that I have full confidence in for the game i am shooting.

That .260 is very adequate, in a mod 7 sounds wonderful ( lite and easy to handle)
I killed my elk with my 300wm but was very happy when my guide lent me his .280 on a bear hunt after 3 days of packing the heavy .300wm up and down the sangri de christo mountains

shot placement counts more than caliber. lot of elk killed by musket or or indians with bow and arrow
