I am driving out to the ranch tonight. Going to make a couple coyotes sets then go to bed. Will be in the stand early and will sit till 11 and then I will get back in a stand around 4. Should be a great weekend!

Won't be out in the stand, but I sure have taken in more deer this morning than the past two weeks.. I figure this weekend will be super busy! Wish I could be out there, but for now ill just live in the woods through all of y'all!

Pops was in a stand this morning in San Saba and had a shooter buck come by. He learned the hard way today that you must check all your equipment very carefully - the crossbow bolt he shot and thought was a kill shot turned out to be a miss. The broadhead came apart in flight. He found 2 perfectly shaped blades on the ground and no blood.
After a long fit of cussing, he declared he was going to solid body broadheads from now on. He is on a mission to find him some today before the evening sit.

going up to the property tonight and will be on stand in the AM in Groveton. Forecast says 48 degrees tomorrow.

I'd already be in the field if we weren't having our daughter's 16th birthday party tomorrow. There'll be other weekends though.

Heck...I've got a lot of brush to cut and other work to do at lease and I've been waiting for temps to drop just to do that part! Saturday morning sounds like a good opportunity!

Saw a really nice young 9 point this morning. got my heart pumping for a minute. He will be a shooter next year. Sure feels good to be in a tree in the woods today.
