    Tow rating for gooseneck/5th wheel

If I was wanting to get away from the 5th wheel kingpin route and wanted to get the adapter to a gooseneck and bolt it to my trailer....
Anyone know if there is a weight rating maximum for this....

My camper is a good size rig, and was just wondering if its suitable to do, or am I stuck hauling the 5th wheel around...

    Thoughts?

I did it with a 29’ 12k and I don’t care what anyone tells you, it does pull different than the kingpin. I forget which one I had but it was a big square beast and it was super secure to the trailer. It is the added leverage that creates a kind of springy feel. I was never once worried about anything coming loose but I despised the way it pulled compared to a kingpin setup especially on any wavy roads. Seemed to preload on the pin and push the truck then pull back. The only benefit was bed space in the truck. Hope this helps.

One we had before was 30,000 and I think around 7,000 tongue weight.

You might want to check with the manufacture of your trailer as some do not recommend them. I used one on a 38 foot fifth wheel trailer and it towed great using a dually pickup
