Craftsman cordless tools made by Dewalt ???

I was at Lowes today getting a couple extra keys made and I saw the display for Craftsman cordless tools.

I ask the guy...who makes the craftsman tools nowadays...he said Dewalt. The display said something about being made in USA. Guy said Lowes is pushing Craftsman and downsizing Kobalt...

Anyone know about the quality of these tools? They look alot like Dewalt, different color scheme and some are brushless models.

I paid $400 for a kit last Christmas. The impact drill attachment lock already broke on me and the regular drill burned up first month I had it. I have a Porter Cable set as well that I have used the last 3 yrs no issues. Probably won’t buy them again. Milwaukee and Porter Cable have been my best experience.

Stanley/Black and Decker owns Craftsman, Dewalt, Mac, Porter Cable,Bostich, Proto, Facom and Irwin now.

I do know that some Dewalt is made or assembled in the US again and there was rumors that Stanley was going to build a plant in Texas to make hand tools again. I would doubt that Stanley would contanimate the Dewalt line with the Craftsman name but I do not know. I do know that Mac Tools cordless line and Dewalt cordless use the same batteries and they will interchange.

thanx for the info. Wonder if the "new" craftsman tools are better than the "old" craftsman?

The Dewalt tools are okay. But their batteries suck. I've had better luck with Ryobi.

Their bigger batteries with xr tools are awesome now. The little 20v batteries are terrible and I am about to just throw them in the trash. Flex volt and 5ah batteries run for AWHILE! I think the black thin ones are 1 or 2 ah
