    Polaris ranger issue

Figured there might be a polaris guru here somewhere before I spend a ton on a mechanic.

I've had a few overheating problems they past year with my 2013 Ranger 800. Thermostat is good and coolant system is functioning. I researched that a weak fuel pump can cause it to run lean and overheat. The other day it died on me at the lease. Turned over fine, just not getting fire.

I changed the fuel pump today and it still won't start. I made sure it was getting flow and wasn't vapor locked, still nothing.

Any suggestions on what to look at next?
    Thanks

What to look at next? A Yamaha or CanAm

My 2013 Polaris did that and the shop said it had something to do with the timing. They repaired it. But, I am not sure if that is what it really was.

My brother-in-law and I worked on his for weeks, even changing out the fuel pump. Finally gave up and carried it to a dealer. They told him that the Fuel pump (located inside the fuel tank) can be replaced, but the fix was replacing the entire fuel tank with the pump and sending unit installed already. They did and it fixed the stalling/cutting out issues. He think his is a 2007 Ranger 700XP.

I’m sure you already looked but make sure there is no grass or any of that built up on radiator.. I had an overheating issue and it was due to the fuel pump or something.. that was only the beginning.. I ended up selling due to one issue after another..

Radiator is clean as a whistle. I don't think that would keep it from starting though.

Buy a new radiator cap. Had the same issue, and it was a $10 radiator cap.
Won’t fix the starting issue, but I would certainly give it a shot to resolve the overheating.

I had some problems like that. Turns out to be a bad ignition switch. Wasn’t getting power to the pump or fan in the run position

I had the fuel pump issue with my 2012 Ranger 800, but once we replaced the fuel pump it has ran great since.

If your getting fuel but it won't fire there's no spark.

I checked all the fuses and relays look good. Looks like I'll be taking it in rather than changing out every electrical component myself trying to figure it out. Definitely not getting fire.

If you can get it to Athens I know a guy that is a Polaris Ranger Genius ! Very reasonable prices. I’m betting it’s electrical.

Sounds like overheating can come from dam near anything. Please let us know what the actual problem turns out to be.

I belive the overheating issue was the fuel pump. I also replaced the radiator cap, which is another known issue. As far as the problem with it not starting, I pulled the underseat storage and noticed a wire connection dangling. Plugged it back in and it fired right up. I was driving in a new clear cut when it died, so apparently a stick must have pulled it loose.

It's running fine with no overheating issues as of yet. And I've driven the hell out of trying to test it out.

Had a 2013 for work a couple years ago. Middle of 2016, it started the spiral. Overheating constantly. Replaced everything, radiator, water pump, relays, fans, added fulltime switch to fan, nothing. Some said the top end needed rebuilt, hours and miles were lower than most. I tell you what, that 2017 rode so much better.
