I believe you need to learn the deer at where you hunt. What I mean by that, you need to know where they like to go, where they feed, etc.
Getting to the stand a hour or hour and half before daylight may be too early. Some places I hunt, I won't get to the stand till after daylight because I know I will bust them going in at 6 in the morning.
Now, the big bucks on my place won't be at a feeder during daylight hours, so I don't hunt over feeders, even though we have them. On my place, bucks will travel on one trail and does on another. Find those trails and you probably will never hunt a feeder again.

There is no way to predict the getting in part. I usually try to get in 45-60 minutes before daylight so if I do spook some deer there is time for them to settle or other deer to come in. Getting out I will usually wait until it is dark then maybe a whistle or some slight sound just enough to get them to move off and get out as quick and quiet as possible.

I get to the stand around 5:45am and leave around 9am. Then in the evenings I get there around 5:30pm and leave when I can't see anymore and just bump out whatever deer are there, unless it's a mature buck, then I wait until the leave (watching with the binoculars that can see better than I can).
