If they don’t find it more then likely it’s still alive most guys get so excited after shooting a deer with a bow it’s all a perfect looking shot to them when all reality more times then not . It’s not anywhere close to where they said they hit them at . From sounds of if he might of just back strapped him and if that’s the case the deer will pop back up on camera somewhere.

Very rarely will the hunter pinpoint the shot placement exactly when telling about the shot on a deer that big. Sounds like he hit him in the backstrap
What did the arrow look like?
Very little blood and greasy is back strap. Hope I'm wrong and he finds him
If not, he will be back in a couple of weeks

Mule kick usually means double lung. Shouldn’t be far if he waited 30 minutes before he got out of the blind. If he he got out immediately, that deer could be anywhere.
