Well, after a year or so of me ribbing him on how much I love my SIG P365....he just walked in the door with the new Springfield Hellcat. Ok ok, I’ll admit...1 extra round is 1 extra round!! He bought the OSP (optical sight pistol) version with the Shield RMSc red dot laser which is a pretty cool feature....if you’re into that. The tactical U-dot sights are nice and I also like the trigger but then again I’ve always been a fan of Springfield’s trigger.
It seems boxier or bulkier in my hand than my P365 and it’s darn sure heavier, but some of that can be attributed to my son’s obsessive need to accessorize these stupid things [emoji849] Like the red dot and the Viridian C5L green Lazer light [emoji2955] Well...that and the fact that it’s sporting an extra round of capacity...somewhere. [emoji106] I personally don’t care for the bulkiness of extra stuff hanging off my pistols when trying to unholster the darn things...but I digress.
It’s a cool little firearm but the 1 extra round isn’t enough to make me want to give up my SIG. My son likes to run laser optics and gadgets so he will like it no doubt.
Here are some pics for comparison.

As for carrying, the SIG has been my favorite subcompact 9mm so far. It’s SMALL so it conceals well and is fairly accurate. That being said, these pocket pistols are in a class by themselves and just ain’t a lot of fun at the range. They aren’t made for “plinking” IMO as they are all snappy. I personally don’t care for sending more than 2 boxes at a time downrange. I have too many other firearms I enjoy shooting way more

As for the P365 I think I have 600 rounds (best estimate) down the pipe so far with ZERO hiccups. It’s been flawless, has excellent sites, grips and overall ergonomics. Ok to good trigger with a sweet, short reset. I added Talon grips to it bc I just got into a habit of adding them to all my micro carries...but it dang sure didn’t need it.

Have you had a chance to get out and shoot the Hellcat any more? I’ve been eyeballing them since their release. I’m seeing lots of videos stating both the 365 and the Hellcat are good picks. I also notice the Hellcat comes with a extended mag making it 13+1.
I have pretty large hands. When I held it at Academy I would have liked to try it with the extended mag.

I'm going to try to get out to the range with him soon to test-compare but I don't expect a lot of differences between the performance of it and the P365. I know my Sig is reliable and have no doubt that the Hellcat is as well. What I'm most interested in is the trigger. Again, I've always been a big fan of Springfield's triggers.
Here is a pic of the son's Hellcat and the 13rd mag.

I have the Hellcat and enjoy it. I prefer the Sig 365 because of the little bit skinnier grip feels better in my hand. Both are great guns but if I had to chose one or the other it’d be the 365. On YouTube there is a video of shooting 10,000 rounds through the Hellcat with only 4 small malfunctions. Can’t beat that.

Spent yesterday evening at the gun range for our anniversary. I rented both the Sig 365 & Hellcat. I liked them both and shot them both well. Edge went to the Hellcat as the grip felt a bit better in my hand and I like the optics availability. Ironically I had multiple misfires with the Sig, none with the hellcat.
Wife green lighted me to get whichever I wanted. The range has one coming that has a Shield site on it for $799. That’s a $400 site on a $550 gun, seems like a good deal. But I want to shoot them both one more time before I commit
