    Student job around Huntsville

Anyone around Huntsville know of any part time job opportunities. My 20 year old daughter is a hard worker but needs a job that doesn’t interfere with her SHSU schedule.

Tell her to ask her advisor. There are a lot of on campus jobs. I worked in a study lounge part time and studied while over seeing printers computers and other stuff.

I worked for the university PD as a student many years ago. That was interesting.

She has heard HEB has a reputation as a great place to work. Consequently they don’t have vacancies too often but I think she will check with them again.

As to her talents and abilities...

she is an Acting/Directing major and can speak well and is a quick learner.
She can sell. Some of y’all may remember her helping me at the TTHA shows.
She has some above average mechanical/construction skills especially for a young lady.
She is Not a snowflake but she isn’t real assertive. The prison would not be a good fit!
She worked on campus last year but that particular job was a constant conflict with her school schedule but perhaps something better is available.

I hope she can find good people to work for more than anything.

She would say she doesn’t want to work food service but I’d say you want to be an actor you better learn to wait tables!

I'd suggest a student worker job on campus.

You mentioned above average mechanical skills and the ability to sell. That's way more than she would need to work at discount tire. Good starting pay, will work around school schedules, always off on Sundays, and provides tuition reimbursement for good grades.

I didn't work at that store, but spent around 7 years working for them while paying my way through college. It's a great company to work for.

                    I second this.

My son is working there while going to school and is a really good fit with above average pay if you hustle.

                      Thanks. I'll pass that along.

have her look into being a leasing agent for an apartment complex/ property management company. Doesnt need her real estate license if she is leasing for the owner so its pretty easy to start. Usually an hourly + commission deal. Me and a few buddies did it in college and made more money than anyone else we knew working part time.

That's actually the job she just quit. They were completely unreasonable with her schedule and had her taking calls and putting out fires day and night. Very poorly managed at her apt. complex. Maybe at a different one it would have been better.

Same here! That was until they had me do parking tickets on campus. No need to get my arse beat at parties over a ticket!!

Big EZ crawfish and oyster bar. Very Near campus and they stay busy. Closed on mondays. Obviously crawfish season is the busy season but a good place to work.
