    Lamco feeder problem

Bought a low and throw 3 months ago. Everything worked perfectly until this week. Went to check it and it is not throwing. Checked battery, it is good. Ran a “test” and it makes a buzzing sound but no rotation. Checked the spinner and it is not jammed. Can’t find any wiring issues. Thoughts? Pretty frustrating since these things are supposed to be the best around and it is only three months old.

Buzzing typically means battery doesn’t have enough juice. Replace that first, then on to the timer.

Pretty sure battery doesn’t have enough juice to turn motor. I put lithium batteries in all my LAMCO feeders, never any problems.

That was my thought as well but I Tested the battery after removing it and it worked fine in another feeder.

Also the battery is only three months old and it has a solar panel attached.

Sounds like solar panel is not charging battery and battery has discharged. I would confirm that battery is fully charged first. 2nd may be a defective battery. 3. I also believe the motor has a shaft that can come loose and allow to spin on the shaft, but not positive on this. Give them a call and I bet they can help solve your problem.

Spinner plate is not attached to the shaft of the motor?

do those have a spinner plate? could the humming be the motor turning and the spinner plate loose on the shaft?

Bypass the timer and go directly to the motor from the battery. If it spins it’s the timer. If not it’s the motor or battery.

i have had some of the same issues and it seems to be the solar panel

There was a bad batch of "the timer"
What is the serial number on it

I’d start by checking voltage on the main battery and the fuse in the timer. Maybe an issue with the timer it self.
