I agree with the OP it is very annoying and makes it harder to discern when someone is braking or changing lanes with all the **** flashing lights. If you go outside in a group of people and start pointing in the sky everyone will look up even if there is nothing in the sky to be seen. I say we sign a petition to make running with your hazards in the rain illegal.

If you feel the need to turn on your flashers pull your ******* self over to the shoulder. Come to a complete stop and turn them on.

I don't mind, as long as they stay to the right. If you can't do that, then they should just stop driving.

I’ve used them in heavy rain before. I’ll do it again if I need to. I want to be seen. I don’t trust other drivers to not be on their phones in heavy rain and not see me and slam into the back of my truck causing a wreck. At least if my hazard lights are on and I get hit I’ll know, and that driver will know what a DA they are. I care about my safety, I don’t care if it makes someone mad “because I’m using them for what they’re intended to be used for” and other than that there’s more things in the world to worry about than people trying to be safe.

LOL no, totally different. One is a button, one is a lever that goes TWO directions, and far more complicated to operate.

I put mine on in heavy rain to hopefully avoid being plowed by the jackass in the hydroplane-proof vehicle going 75...

I don't think anyone has a problem with this. If you are the only one on the road, and can't do the speed limit, clearly it's smart to put them on, and move to the right.

The issue is when traffic is backed up, everyone is bumper to bumper, and CLEARLY everyone understands traffic is slow, yet people keep running with them on. It's not necessary, and since most people's brake lights are also their hazards, it's harder to tell when they hit the brakes vs just another hazard flash, especially if the third brake light doesn't work.

We all see the rain and all the flashing lights do is cause issues for others or at least it kind of blinds me.
Well, with all the "move over" threads about driving slow in the left lane, maybe they think doing the speed limit warrants the flashers.
