Not that they need the upping, but I'm going to do it, anyway.
So, I went up to CCR today at the recommendation of Jeff (thanks) to talk to Chris about some Trad bow stuff, right? I thought - why not. I'm not shooting well, I don't very well like the bow I have...may as well ask some questions.
Well, called yesterday and went up there today. Unfortunately, Chris wasn't super available, but Willie (Willy?) was. I told him I was having some compound problems and also some trad curiosities. He took his time with me, made a recommendation, told me to go from there. Then he specifically spent 30 minutes redoing the inserts on my Easton arrows because they had been overglued. Took a tool to each one, tested field points in them - the whole 9.
While this was going on, Jeff came out to talk to me. He asked me about my thoughts on my bow, we talked and strategized for me for a while, all the good stuff. When I got my arrows back, they let me put a few down-range. After he (Jeff) recommended that I take a lesson or two from Chris (solid advice - I'm not a proud shooter) he stood and watched me shoot. Never had that happen, so I was a little nervy. But, after a little bit of, 'Ok, you're punching the trigger' and 'I don't think you looked at your bubble that time..' gentle advice, I dropped a 1" group at 20 yards with basically very little effort. I need to tune up the bow to my arrows and get on Chris' lesson list, but I hate my bow a little less, now.
Thanks guys, as usual.
