Might be a dumb ?

We have a lot of mesquite that’s been sprayed and are dead as hammer. Would it be a bad idea to cook with it.

Shouldn’t hurt anything. Everything will be burned off by the time you have coals ready to cook.

It should be fine to cook with. The chemical moved to the root, which is what killed it. The rate of chemical used and what gets into the plant is minimal and then broken down from there.

By the time my mesquite coals are ready for a steak, I can't see any way there would be chemical left in them.
