    Squirrel Ate My Tripod Seat

I have an Ameristep tripod and the squirrel at my seat padding. Ameristep doesn't sell a replacement. Anyone know of a good and reasonably priced replacement seat that will slide over this type of tripod chair?

I used a nylon rope and wrapped it around the bars. Sorry, the sun caused mine to weaken and rip. The rope held up for several years.

I used a 1 inch wide ratchet strap and weaved it in between the bars to create a saddle as the same thing happened to me. Its not bad on the hind parts for a few hours of sitting.

I took care of that. I crawled up in the tripod and realized the seat was gone. I was sitting on the metal bars and getting pretty mad when the squirrel came to the neighboring tree and started barking at me. I drew back and shot him right in the chest and the arrow went the length of his body exiting where his tail was. He fell in one spot and his tail in another.

Get a piece of plywood for a seat, attach it to the frame. Get a seat cushion that you can take with you when you leave. No more squirrel eaten cushion.

Mine deteriorated over the years and I carry in two cushions--one for the seat and one for my back.

I used a floating boat cushion and mounted it to a piece of plywood and bolted to the seat frame.

Get some foam and vinyl from fabric store. Take the seat off and staple vinyl to seat base then reinstall. Problem solved and now the seat is water resistant

I need to replace the seats on 2 Game Winner Tripods. They’re all mesh. I haven’t been able to find replacement seats. I was at WM and it looks like I might be able to use a boat seat. I haven’t tried it yet, probably will this weekend
