Life has started to slow down long enough for me to update everyone. First off, God is so Good. In the last update I indicated that the Doctors were saying it was probably going to be yesterday or today before we got to leave with Crew in tow. Well, Friday afternoon, a full two weeks since admission we got to leave. With only 1 medication on board for seizures, and that was reduced by 3/4 from the original dose, we left the hospital. And the seizure medication, he only had one dose left, so we are off and no seizures to date. We learned that when the original MRI and spectroscopy result came back, the main Dr. didn't believe it and ordered another for a week out. Guess what, no change. Very minimal damage even though the blood work indicated that he was without oxygen for a while and should have had major damage. The cooling system to protect the brain was great, but our Lord is greater.
Little man and mom are both doing great. We also learned that it wasn't a placental abruption, and that the umbilical cord never attached to the placental wall correctly. This could have happened at anytime during the pregnancy and just happened to occur on our induction date just a door away from the OR. We have coached softball tournaments, been to the lake, the coast, Colorado, Florida, and the good Lord just let it happen when there was someone there to take care of her. Just glad it happened there and not anywhere else because I would have lost both of them.
Thanks so much for the prayers GS.
