Season is not looking very good...

    per game cams...

Only a couple of decent but young bucks and does with young.

Guess I need to hunt trails and stay off feeders. Just gotta figure out which trails.

An expert like you should have it already figured out, any postable pics, or are you pulling our leg.

I hear ya pipeline was supposed to be done months ago is still under construction. Just broke ground upgrading transmission line as well. Pretty much entire ranch is under construction with bow season around the corner.

I have black birds and raccoons on cam as of today. Not a single deer. BUT.... Jumped 3 nice Bucks and 5 Doe on property, just not around feeders. Plenty of green I guess.

Hell our mature deer don't even really start showing up until mid-September and October. Once they all go hard horned mid September its a scatter fest and a Chinese fire drill seeing what will show up and where..

I sure Harrgarmen's finest will be good to go come October..

I hand feed corn, plus a spin feeder and free choice protein at the house in Dripping Springs year round. I have 15+- does and fawns here each day. I haven’t had a forked antler buck on my place since January. Three of the four regular bucks from last fall are in a bachelor group about 400 yards down the road. The’ll be here pre rut through horn drop then disappear. In addition to the regulars, I’ll see 6 - 10 bucks I’ve never seen at least once during the rut and they’ll vanish. When I hunted in Menard- is have nice bucks on camera during velvet that would disappear during the rut and rerun late season.

Point being, it’s way to early to determine how the season is going to go. The rut is powerful influence on buck behavior.

I haven’t seen anything mature all yr on my Navarro land. Feeders hand corn and food plots.

For you “decent but young” probably means 160’s typical 5.5yr 10s....

Good luck this season bud, I’m sure the deer ur lookin for will show up

The big boys don't usually show up until the end of October. Be patient Grasshopper.

My feeders and cams have been going since July and nothing but pigs and does/fawns so far. Lots of land work going on across the road plus I saw surveyors at the north fenceline couple of weeks ago--Does still eat good however.

I shot 2 big (for my area) bucks last year and I hadn't seen either of them or got either of them on camera until the second they walked out.

That's mostly because I don't run cameras, but still...
