Subsonic 308 Winchester load Data

Buddy of mine called me up needing some subs loaded for his 308 but I’ve never loaded subsonic, anyone have some data?

Looks like we’ll be using 175-220gr SMKs but I’m open to anything.

These will be ran in a remington 700.

With that large of case Trailboss will be user friendly. It's a very high density/low pressure powder. Hopefully the barrel is fast twisted. A chronograph is a good tool to check speed. Start out with max loads because you don't want a bullet getting stuck in the barrel. You are looking for a load that pushes your choice of bullet to around 1000-1050 fps.

I don’t reload myself but this is what was suggested to me for 308 190 gr

11 grain trailboss standard primer or
11.5 grain imr 4759 mag primer
touching or 15 thou off rifling

Trail boss with a 200g+ lead pill is what I use for anything under 100yds. Same lead pill but different powder for the Remmy 300blkout.
