Had ortho surgery last July for a partially torn rotator cuff and torn labrum. Missed bow season and gun season would have been a problem if I had harvested anything since I still couldn't lift my right arm high enough to skin one on the rack without pain. All thru rehab and afterwards still have pain in my shoulder. A few months ago went back to the ortho doctor about it- scheduled another MRI and have another tear of the rotator cuff. Got back into the ortho doctor today and found out the tear is really minimal and not my real problem. Apparently I have arthritic problems with the bones in my shoulder- a narrowing to the space between my clavicle and the other bones in my shoulder. So now they are looking to see when to schedule surgery to go in and remove some bone to open the joint up more so that when I raise my arm I am not pushing bone into bone. He said the rehab won't be as bad as for the tears last year but depending on when the surgery gets scheduled I guess will determine if I am in game for at least the end of bow season.

That bone on bone thing didn't just happen. I had the same situation you did, and they repaired the tear and shaved bone ends to create more space all at the same time. Left side is starting to have some of the same symptoms now. Sorry you're having to do the 2 step. Get that crossbow for this year, and I bet you have friends that would help with the skinning, etc.

I too have had the rotator cuff tears repaired and bicep tear repair mess with a bow season a few years ago. Got enough rehab in to put 30-40 lb limbs on the ole Mathews and killed a spike. Normally don't shoot spikes but he gave one up for the team...lol
Dealing with shoulder issues now and as long as it doesn't get any worse I'm going to tough it out till late Dec or early Jan to see doc.
Also had a back surgery kill a season 20+ years ago.
Gettin old ain't for the weak
