Rising Sun in Trinity went that way too I hear. Changed to Risen Son. Lots more money in churches than in honkytonks. Tax free money.[emoji106]

Bells Camp stayed open until 2 so we used to high tail it up there right after Shenanigans in Huntsville would close at midnight. Crazy times for sure.

Firehouse saloon is legit.

Loved the Firehouse, played it many times, but a honky tonk it was not. It was a live music venue. Honestly, there’s probably very few honky tonks left, none in Houston. Gilley’s was a honky tonk and you could probably throw all the old dance halls on the list.

If they consider neon boots a honky tonk, then the firehouse is a honky tonk.

Gilleys had live music too.
