Well, this is going to cut into my post count...

Today was "D-Day" for switching to a new computer system at work- we are now on the system of the company that bought us last year. I clicked on TBH.COM this morning and got a message that said "DENIED" in big flashing red letters. Under "REASON" it said "WEAPONS". (did you know this was a weapons site? News to me!) Not a big deal of course but what bugs me is this - there are thousands of non-business related sites that are accessible but this one is lumped into the weapons category. (Other restricted categories include violence, games, nudity, puppy-stomping videos, whatever) I would understand if I was trying to go to howtokillinnocentcitizensfromatallbuilding.com or something, but an archery website?. Oh well, just gonna have to fight the wife and kids for some computer time at home...

Man... I'm dreading the day they do that at my work.

reminds me of the time I went online to buy some snapper slappers for a fishing trip and for some reason, the site was blocked for ****ography....

      LOL

Theres a way to get around that if you know how to set up a proxy at home, I'd be willing to bet they have a network port thats wide open.

There's a procedure to try and get a site removed from the restricted list but you have to show how visiting that site is business related - I'm not sure I can make a convincing argument for that one. But, if my hobby was orchids, muffler repair, Ming Dynasty vases, needlepoint, fung shui, ship-in-a-bottle-building, gardening, lizard breeding or making sculptures of past presidents out of fingernail clippings I would be fine with my website choices. Archery? No way.
