Just some information to think on.
1” rain will give Approximately .62 gallons of water per square ft. of surface.

          Water Guzzlers

I did fill the rotoguzz initially, but the limited rain we’ve had in south Texas has kept I topped off. According to my grandma we had 3” and f rain a month or so ago. That 3” filled around 100gallons in the tank!

The system does have a drain for clean out.

I purchased mine from Mike Wilson at Wilson outdoors. He’s shoot is up in Tyler I believe, but he delivered it to me in Katy free of charge. Would buy from him again, great service and delivers almost anywhere in Texas for little or no cost. I think he’s running a special right no for $1000/unit

Mike mentioned he recently put some goldfish in his tank that have been keeping the bugs and algae down. If I can make it out to the ranch soon I’ll probably do the same.

If you give him a call tell him Robert sent you.

I have a few rain catch systems on my place. They get used plenty.
I cant figure out how to post pics, but if you want I can txt you some pics. Or if someone wants to post them up for me I can send them out.

Build an extra rain catch with a pitch that drains off into it.. tons of pictures on the internet out there.. rainmakers are a good guzzler option too made in canyon tx..

Check out Rainmaker Wildlife Products. They will have what your looking for. Not cheap but great products.

Never seen these before!! Those things are slicker'n snot on a brass door knob!! I'd have had one at every feed location on our place in Del Rio when we had that place!! New place down South has plenty of water through big dirt tanks and wells/water troughs...

Check out Wilson Wildlife out of Tyler. He has the Roto Guzzler as well as the Roto Guzzler JR. I think he may be the only one who has the JR but not 100% on that. He has a new water and feed station too he’s bringing on the market.

He does delivery and you can add some Texas Hunter Product on the truck for me! You can let Mike know I said to reach out. He will be setup at TDA Antler Fest in San Marcos this weekend.

I am going to try to describe something for catching and holding water that I learned about back in the late 70's when I was at A&M getting my Wildlife degree. Build two corrugated tin covered "shed" roofs that slope towards each other in the middle and leave a gap of a couple of inches in the middle between the two covers. Build them high enough that a buck with antlers can get under it. Place an oblong aluminum or one of the oblong rubber troughs underneath in the middle so it will catch the rain runoff. The covers will help keep the trough in the shade and slow down evaporation. Hope that makes sense. You can probably bury it in the ground part ways to keep the pigs from being to push it around when it gets low or empty.
