Because Mad Jack's Mountaintop BBQ is way better BBQ than anything you'll find in El Paso. He's originally from from the Central Tx BBQ area.
It's a nice drive and much cooler up there as well
I would do L&Js if there, maybe Forte's Mexican Elder too. If I had a weekend, I'd want to get a steak at Cattleman's as well. Franklin Mountains would be a good way to kill some time. You could hit up White Sands.
I've worked in El Paso many times, and personally I like the place!
They got some awesome teal and dove hunting down by the river outside of town
Lots of cool old places to see and eat , hot springs and a great steak house
El Paso isn’t a bad place to be

That's what I thought. Nice town. Low crime. No humidity. Mornings and evenings are much cooler than over here.
Chicos Tacos (EP tradition)
Carlsbad caverns (you could do it in a day drive)
Elk hunt in ruidoso
Viva El Paso (not sure if they are still doing shows up in the mountains)
Race track and casino
New Mexico is super close. Lots of little towns to check out
White sands
Dont go to Walmart (too soon?)
