    Fallow age?

Would like a little help on aging a fallow deer. I have an argument going on between me and one of my best friends. No way he's 4. That would make him 2 in the first pic. He's got to be 6 Or 7

I think he’s young, as he doesn’t have any horn. His body is big and looks old. Strange.

You can’t age deer based on antlers.

Shoot that dude! Needs to go. In the freezer

Actually to some extent in fallow you can age by antler. Year one they are all spikes, 2 they have very little in any palms. After 3 it gets tougher because they start to palmate and their bodies start to get bigger. Usually by 4 they are nearly mature and some of them have good palms, some don't. The deer pictured looks to be 5+. If the Op knows his age in the first pic, why is he asking how old he is? A little math should give the answer.

I don’t know his age, I think he’s 6 but friend thinks he’s only 4, the first pic was from 2 yrs ago. Probably going down this evening, if we don’t shoot an axis, or tomorrow.
