Here is the back story.
Got to remove a nut to replace the broken part.
Arms are to short.
I took this pic as I was putting new part on. I used same method to take the nut off.
I thought I could pop rivet it from inside the trailer. The holes on the new part were to large a diameter for the pop rivet to get a bite on.
Riveting from the inside would have been the ideal way. The heads of the rivets are round and smooth. Which makes them less likely to catch and tear freight, however since it's so close to floor level I instead used ¼" bolts.
In the proceeding picture I show how I held the part in place after lining up the holes on the outside. I know logic would dictate that I SHOULD'VE noticed how big the holes were on the new part. I didn't.
It's nice to be imaginative when you work by yourself.
