You can drop a new 5.3 crate motor in that old truck for around $3k and grab another 200k miles out of it easy.

More like 6-7k installed but mileage is about right. Have an 05 avalanche with 300k + new crate at 180k

$3k if you do it yo self
New short block and have old heads redone with a good HiPo radius valve job, viton seals, new valve springs. New O2 sensors and a dyno tune for corn gas.

Home made. I'll get better pics next time I install it and send them to you. It's 1 ¾ sadie tubing C Clamped onto the rail. Easy on off

It has now been parked with 40 miles on the dash and I'm back in my semi. At this rate, it's going to stay new for a long time.

I've driven them all for untold miles, I've always preferred the ride on a GM product.

The plan with old faithful is an engine rebuild. Should cost me about 2500 total, and then let dad use it.

Thanks for all the kind words
