Location is a thing ... a BIG thing.

Yep. I chose in a neighborhood with a great school district. And bought less than we qualified for.
I suggest scouting the street or neighborhood during a weekend and also try your commute once.

Whatever they say you can afford, you can't! Don't be house broke. Enjoy the process and stick to whatever your numbers tell you is right for your budget, if you have one. Homes can be emotional purchases but always good to check yourself with realistic numbers. Ask about taxes, hoa, trash pick up, ask for recent electric, gas and water bills to get an idea of what expenses might look like.

Lol. I was gonna say the same as above. They will sell you more house than you can afford. Get what you need. Get what you want later. Congrats on a first home.

Never believe what they say they pay in taxes. It will always be higher. In some cases a lot higher.

I would not look for a decked out home, unless that's what you want. It's ok to save money on the purchase and then do some fixing up as you get to know the house.

Remove them. Carry them in your vehicle, secured. If you can't go directly from one location to the other, leave at friends house.

Take them out and move the safe.

This Steph ^^^. Or family member's home. It will help keep the guns from get-n scratched up. And make the safe just a tad easier to move. When you get the safe set and bolted down to the foundation, then put your guns back in.
