    Overhead Feed Bin

About to pull the trigger on one of these. AWS has poly lined 14 ton for $10,000 and $2,500 delivery. There is a manufacture out of Oklahoma a 20 ton painted inside, no poly liner for $5,900 and $1,000 delivery. Delivery is to Fowlerton area. So is poly lined worth the extra dough. Anyone got experience with these feed bins?

    We went with Brazos bins

Have a 30 ton for a big truck load of corn, and a split 20 ton. Can put 10 tons of protein and 10 tons of something else on the other side. Have no complaints. I don’t have any experience with the poly lined ones

Beat me to it^^ for the money they are the way to go. We are still using old bins and augers but one of their overheads is on my next list.

I like the bucket chute option as well. Usually we just fill bucket out of our trip hopper but its a nice option. I like to use a bucket for pinned sick cows etc.

Their bucket chute works, but it’s an odd size,(10”) so it’s a little awkward. It is nice though.

Those two chutes coming off that bin. I had one built into our corn bin. They’re handy to get stuff for hand corn or how dclifton feeds cattle off his. Hard to get a small amount out of a bin without them.

We have a Southwest Fabricators one from Oklahoma. No complaints, get one big enough to fit a full truck and a little room so you don’t have to completely empty it between trucks. Enough room for one round of filling would be ideal. Sometimes protein sticks to sides little bit and have to beat the bottom with a rubber mallet. Think because of how hot it gets in south Texas and cool in the mornings. Corn flows well. Never any experience with the polylined.

Get a 30 or 35 ton bin. Cost isn’t that much more and you don’t have to have it empty to hold a load.
