    Transitions Lenses...

Anyone have Transitions Lenses in their eyeglasses? I'm in need of a new pair of glasses and I'm thinking about going with these lenses. Just wanted to hear some honest opinions on them before I get them.

All I have worn for 20 years. Only thing I dislike if it is really cold they get real dark.

Just got another pair with them from work and it is the only way I would go anymore.

I WEAR THEM AND THE ONLY COMPLAINT THAT I HAVE, IS WHEN I AM IN A VEHICLE THEY DON'T DARKEN AT ALL. HOWEVER THEY WORK GREAT IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE.

I don't like mine. They don't get dark enough for my liking and if you wear a cap or hat as I do they don't get dark at all.

Dont get dark enough, dont hardly change at all if your driving.

I have an old pait of Rx sunglasses that I wear while driving in the sun. PITA to awitch glasses. I bought the transitions so I wouldnt have to do that, but I still switch while driving.

I prefer the magnetic clip on types. I have two pair...adantage is that I can control WHEN they are dark and WHEN they aren't. I have heard several say they didn't like the delay in the change.

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to try them out. I have the magnetic clip-on now and hate them, but that could be because I'm used to my Costas when I am wearing my contacts. I'll probably go to Pearle Vision and try them out. They have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee so if I don't care for them I should be able to go back and get some regular lenses. Next up will be a pair of prescription Costas, just don't feel like dropping the coin on them right now.

IMO, The only down side to them is that when going indoors after being outside they don't 'lighten' up quick enough. I also noticed that, at least for me, when hunting in the evenings they stay dark and make it appear that shooting light was getting shorter. So I wore a different pair for evening hunts.

Also slow to react in cooler temps.

That is my biggest complaint. When I needed them the most (in the car) they would not darken.

Any advances in transition lens technology since 2009?

Going for new glasses tomorrow and considering the transitions. I can't wear contacts any more with severe dry eyes, so I think the transitions will be worth it.

Anyone hunt, shoot 3D or any other outdoor archery with these lenses? Any problems?
