I remember in the 80's my grandmother got a brand new Lincoln Continental with a sunroof. It had leaks and issues from day one. This of course became my grandfather's problem, taking it to the dealer multiple times. After three or four trips to the dealer he finally had enough and the next time my grandmother complained about it leaking he sealed the thing up with a fat bead of silicone calkShe is still kicking at 93 and I bet she would get hot if I asked her about it

The roof is 2 panels. I broke the rear one. The dealership said basically the whole truck has to come undone hence the 10 hrs of labor wanted. From what I can tell its held in by 4 torx screws. I didn't even put any of my weight when it broke. Just my knee cap. The portion I broke is fixed and doesn't retract. The retractable piece is fine. My insurance is supposed to get back to me tmrw

When he started by removing the weather strip around the front doors It really got my attention and when he next took the front passenger seat out I started sweating!!! Next we’re the side airbags and trim strips just below the roof. Turns out you have to take the roof completely out followed by the complete sunroof assemble, hence the seat removal.
I found a father son trim shop in west Dallas that did it for $1000!! Dealer ship was around $2500 to start.
I love my sun roof.

This should be the scariest part. If so little pressure at the wrong spot cracks the glass, I would be worried that anything hitting the glass would cause it to crack again.

Heck of a lesson to learn. Here is a tip if the glass is delicate.
My Pop made a good living building automatic car/truck washes. Older wash stations with cheap owners do not always stay up on their hydraulics and springs that hold the blowers and other equipment in place. One owner he worked with said... it was cheaper to pay for the broken back windows that the blower broke occasionally, than to spend 600K on a new blower that didn't break windows. Remedy... He paid for their windows and gave a them a free book of washes.
Go to ONLY new modern automatic truck facilities if the Ford window is that fragile. You do not need the headache again.
