    Tree ID

    I call it the horny tree, but fairly certain that’s not the correct name. Anybody have any idea what kind of tree this is?

        Where are you located?
        Have seen this tree up in New Mexico and it is called gator bark tree

          Prickly Ash, Tickle Tongue Tree, Toothache Tree, Texas Hercules Club ...we called them tickle tongue when I was a kid. Put a piece of bark in your mouth and it goes numb.

                Cut a small piece of the under bark layer and stick it against your gums in your cheek.... it will numb that whole side of your mouth!

                  Yep “tickle tongue”

                  Dove and other birds love the black berries/seeds. Typically grow in fence rows, due to bird droppings.

                  Careful if you cut with a chainsaw... the dust gets on you and your whole face will be numb
