    Crabbing in Port Aransas?

Anybody know some places to take the family to catch blue crab while we are down there?

You got a boat and are you talking with traps or a net?

Last time we were cleaning fish at Conn Brown marina, a kid was wading the grass right by the cleaning station and had a net full of crabs.

No boat, just hand lines and a couple 18" collapsing traps.

West side of the road between Aransas Pass and Port A is good. Go near the bridges.

I was just looking at that area and saw Fin and Feather.

Steadmans reef is usually pretty good

So basically just try anywhere there are boat slips and key in on fish cleaning stations?

Cleaning stations will have lots of hard heads. I like deep drainage ditches going into tidal lakes. The incoming tides will usually bring a lot of crabs with it. A drain a couple feet deep can be full of crabs

The kid at Conn wasn’t fishing, he was just eyeballing them and scooping up with net while wading. I watched him net a dozen in about 5 minutes.
