This. Rubbed a lot of rock in my day and haven’t used one since the 80’s.

We average around 500 to 1000 cy a week around Austin, depending on weather etc and I have never used one. I might be doing something incorrect though.

I did reach out to my concrete sub just now, they don’t have one, or I would hook you up

I don't think anyone uses them anymore.

That picture sent chills. As the youngest where my dad was pouring a slab I was always given the pleasure of using one of those. "If you're not covered in concrete, you're not doing it good enough."
My dad probably still has his, but I'm a long way from you.

Jitterbugs aren’t used because they are bad for concrete.

It has been 20 years since I used one. I guess times have changed.

You do not need one, whomever is running the screed board can tamp the rock down a little. Or a bull float will make short order of it.

I read the title and thought, no way a concrete jitterbug will float.

I think I still have one around but I'm a long ways away and haven't used it in really long time.
