Kind of like buying a bow. Get whatever fits you and your budget. Everyone has success and horror stories about all brands. I'm still in my '05 Dodge and its run for nearly 250k miles with very few issues. Our family has had nothing but problems with Fords but I've got a lot of friends who swear by them.

I am a Chevy guy, but every brand is pretty good ( and should be for the absurd price one cost) I would not buy a 1/2 ton over a 3/4

I was a Ford guy. Got a 2019 Toyota Tundra Crew Max and wouldn't go back to Ford!

Driven all 3 a lot (Rentals for work) my list is:
                  Chevy - Ford - Dodge

Go test drive all of them and see which one you like.
I was a die hard dodge fan but hate how the new ones drive. I hated how the 2000-2010 ish Ford trucks drive but love how the newer ones drive. It is all personal preference. Do not listen to the people who try to sway you against one brand.

I have a 11 Tundra. Been an awesome truck. Wouldnt hesitate to add it to the list if I were in that market again.

Ford or Chevy if you want a good trade in. No doubt dodge are cheaper to buy but your trade in will suck.
