Grand Parkway Segment B and C

If you live around Houston this might be of interest. If you've invested any money in property with the idea that the Grand Parkway would drive property values up, you might have to wait a little longer.

Guess they are waiting for a few more people that are holding out on giving up their property....to die off.

I just wish they would get thru with I2-A, I'm tired of rapid construction

I think you hit the nail on the head there. Those south segments go through some pretty large sections of land that I'm sure some old timers are holding on to. Lots of money have already been invested in those areas with the idea that the new road would bring economic development. Going to be lots of P'd off people.

I know two families that held off in the cypress/tomball area. They did all right, in fact one was able to sell the other half of the farm for an additional 12.1 million

Completely shooting from the hip here.

Houston/Harris county is getting some updated flood regulations known as Atlas 14. Which is going to make building anything in the area more difficult. I was in a meeting this morning, where builders are essentially not able to grand father in old regulations even though they had plats filed before Atlas 14.

Extrapolating that out. I would bet that these new sections of 99 will need to be designed to the new flood regs, especially the ones on the SW side of town when there is more flood. And that a lot will need to be redone.

No, don't think so... you can drive from I-10 on the west side of town all the way to 45 South. I do it regularly...
What is NOT done is 59 north over to I-10 East and South to 146.That's segments H and I...

Hope you got 4x4 if you plan on doing that soon. If you go south on 99 from Katy, you can go as far as Richmond. The section from Richmond (Hwy59) to Rosharon (Hwy 288) which the map shows as "Section C" is Cow pasture now. Same with "Section B"

i was in the process of buying a house and land in Liverpool.
I was on HAR and saw where it said "land for sale near you" and the top link said Future Grand parkway frontage... I did some digging and found out that my awesome find was going to be 1/4 mile from where the Grand parkway and hwy35 meet up.
The 1/4 mile between me and the freeway was being rezoned for a trailer park.

needless to say.. I backed out

Have been thinking about selling out and heading north ( Oklahoma ) at the next oil crash, but the new 249 extension has me holding on for now. I hate that its coming, but cant stop it, might as well capitalize on it to help in the move. They have already cleared it past CR 304 south of Stoneham. Thats about maybe 4mi from me. Rich people already moving in last few years.
