I told my wife the one in the yard looked like a melanistic whitetail. I saw her a few times always hanging out with whitetail does.

I said the ones from this morning looks like Sika to me. She swears the doe is the same. If it is a Sika there has to be a buck around too, unless they can crossbreed

Yeah, that 2nd pic of the black one definitely looks like a melanistic whitetail.

Yes melanistic on the 2nd pic, other is a Sika or chocolate fallow, most likely Sika.

For a few years we had a group of 2-3 Sika’s, and also would see a mature Sika buck, but never saw them together or in the same areas on close together days.

fallow have sort of longer tails and sika have a funny color on their butt that surrounds their tail in a circle usually. Pics look like sika doe with the exception of the doe in the yard. I agree its a whitetail.
