    The higher total volume of R-22 if I understand correctly is due to it being a high efficiency unit with a double row of condenser coils. The coils needed a good cleaning and as soon as they were clean the head pressure dropped and it began to trip the low pressure switch and went from working marginally to not working. It makes sense to me that the system was low for a long time and it isn't a significant leak I guess is what I'm saying. BTW I think the guy I'm dealing with is an honest guy.

        Agree the math here doesn't work.

        How did they check for leaks? Do you know how many joints you have in the refrigerant line set between condenser and coil? Or is it a straight run? Double check the Schrader valves by the condenser.
