    How would you build a . . .

. . . Chevy 6.0 liter engine for a swap. I am looking to buy, build, and swap the 5.3 liter in my truck for a 6.0 liter. If you were going to rebuild one, how would you build it? What l would you put on it, in it, and around it? This is mainly for pulling and hauling. I am going to switch out the rear end and transmission as well, but would like to hear your opinions on what you would do. Exhaust, cam, and anything else you can think of. Thanks.

If you're going to be pulling and hauling I just replace any worn parts and put a mild cam in it. You're not going to need to go crazy with forged internals and whatnot. Spend the money on a 4L80e transmission swap.

Adams right. Id just do a good motor with 2.5" exhaust and a good towing tune. Save some money and put a 4l85 in it. Will be a simple swap, might have to swap ecu as well, depending on setup.

I have a 6.0 in my 2012 2500HD 4x4. I put a cam in it, long tube headers, full Flowmaster exhaust, K&N cold air and a custom tune. It made 352 at the wheels. I wish I had my money back.

Buy a crate motor tranny package from Pace Performance

Nice! Man, if set on 6.0 as above, but a crate package with some upgrades and get it tuned.

Have a friend that had a 2500 Silverado with cam , intake, exhaust, and a tune from Nelson Performance. I don't know numbers. But it was definitely night and day over a stock gas.

This is good advice, I had a engine rebuilt for a 1968 bronco and was constantly chasing problems, finally bought a crate combo and was a happy camper
Or a good tune to change the torque curve and shift points
