    Chiggers-need help

I got on another lease on the north side of Sam Rayburn. Well the last four times that I have been up there (past couple of months) the chiggers have ate me up. The first time I was in shorts and rubber boots then I started wearing pants and rubber boot or leather boots and spray down with Sayers. They still ate me up, them bassturds even get in my socks and eat my feet up. Who has a good spray or suggestion to help prevent them.

I'm curious on how your spraying down with Sawyer Permethrine spray because I've used it in some of the most chigger infested area's and it works perfect. I spray every bit of clothing I will be wearing including my underwear and let it dry. I can even wash those clothes a few times before I need to reapply it. I spray the inside and outside of all my clothes. I no longer buy Sawyers, I by Permethrine and then mix my own because it's way cheaper.

Sulphur or permethrin are the best options.
I prefer permethrin because I dont like or remotely care for the sulphur smell.

I use this. Simply spray clothing including footwear and socks. Pay special attention to the armpit and neck area of shirts and the ankle, knee, crotch and waistline of pants.
Let it dry and you will have up to a week or 2 of protection

Sulfur dust in an old tube sock. Dust you feet, ankles, waist, etc.
Then spray with bug spray. You may have to reapply every few hours.

I have always used Deep Woods Off and it works fine for me. I have to remember to put it on though. Last month I was at a TBOT 3D shoot and they tore me up. I had Deep Woods in the pickup and forgot to spray it.

                    Chigg away.

Is good for prevention and treatment. Has sulphur to keep them away and benzocaine for the itch. I can walk the same line as 3 other people, they wont get touched and ill have them all over me. Always have this stuff in the truck.

I've never had a problem with sawyers. If it's not season just use deep woods off..

Get an insect repellent with the highest DEET content and use as instructed, after treating clothing with Permethrin. Just be sure you don't spray the DEET compound on bare skin and then put clothing over it----bad news.
