I didn't see a gunshot wound on the side showing but to me he was facing the wrong way to have been hit by a car. He was facing in the direction of the road right at the edge of the woods rather than laying next to the road.

That hurts, sorry for the loss.

I'm thinking it was hit by a vehicle. Something we overlook is the additional road kill caused by our deer feeders pulling deer in from across the roadway.

Russ. No telling what killed the deer without inspection. Most deer make it off the roadway or die a few hours after getting hit. I’ve had 3 in my yard dead in last month and my house is about 300 yards from road. I know 2 where hit by cars as both had broken up front shoulders

Well thats a bummer. When I was out there Friday night I heard a shot that sounded quite a ways away somewhere around 6:30 or 7. I assumed someone got themselves a hog. Maybe not.
