    DIY maintenance on Polaris Ranger

Anyone do their own PM's? Seems simple enough. Change oil, lube and inspect / tighten belt. Anything else or to watch out for?

I do it on my Can Am. Never had to tighten the belt, but I do have a belt puller and spare belt when it needs one.

I flush the diff fluid with the first scheduled PM, and grease all the zerks with each oil change.

Take it to your nearest Kawasaki dealer, and trade it for a mule. Done

I have a Polaris and do it all myself, wheel bearings is something you will run into in the future if you put many miles on in rough country. u-joints and fuel pump after about 5,000 miles. greasing bushings is something that gets over looked it will add some life to all your suspension parts.

Any of y’all have an oil drain plug that takes an Allen wrench? I changed the fuel filter on my Bobcat (Polaris) and went to change the oil and noticed the Allen wrench fitting. Gonna need a longer wrench to get it broke loose.

Yes, my 900xp Re get has a Allen screw. It SHOULD NOT be that tight. There is an o-ring at the base of the screw. I basically use my low-torque dewalt 20v impact to remove and replace the drain plug. That way, it's the same torque on and off. As soon as the impact clicks once, it's tight enough. I do all the maintenance on my '14 Ranger and haven't bad anything to repair except a fuel pump.....and a fuel tank after running a mesquite stump through it.

I do all of my maintenance on my 14 800 ranger. I’ve changed wheel bearings, a arm bushing, fuel pump, oil changes, and even pulled the transmission once and about too again due to a cracked case. It’s got 4300 rough miles on it from mostly hog hunting with dogs.

                    Yep.

Fluids, lubricants and bushings. 2400 miles
