    Flagstone Sealer around pool

I need to find a better sealer to apply to the flagstone around my pool. I applied one a month or so ago and you can't even tell I put anything on it. Really tired of having brown dirt in the pool from blowing off the flagstone.

    Recommendations?

In for responses as well. Have been disappointed with what I have put down in the past.

I understand this is the down side of flagstone. You have to be careful that you don't put a slick surface on the stone or it can be very dangerous.

I hope you can find something that works.

I used to get the plain masonry sealer in a gallon jug from home depot. It would bead water for a 2 or 3 months and then I just moped on another coat. Not the real expensive stuff either.

I tried doing it myself for 3 years, I finally gave up and hired Texas Stone Sealers to come out and do it. They had to blast everything first. Looks great and has held up. They have a 3 year warranty as well. Not cheap, but works

Stain Proof, it is expensive but the best.

This is what I use on my stone patio. Lasts 2 years. Costs about $45 a gallon.

I asked this same question, a few years back, to a buddy whose whole family has worked with natural stone as a trade for centuries. He told me that with natural stone that's fairly porous, such as flagstone or limestone, nothing will last more than a year, when left to the elements. Not the answer you're looking for, but good to know. I'm going with cool-deck around my pool next time.
