Get a 1/4 oz silver spoon. Not weedless, the one with a treble hook. Cast cast and reel it in fairly fast swimming it through the lights on the pier. Best thing I’ve found for catching trout under lights.

Never tried the spoon in the lights. Will give it a shot. I have had luck using the glowing sassy shad in the lights though.

I haven't been down there in years but here's something to try. I used to throw a cast net in the grass patches off the pier and catch the smallest piggy perch I could. Keep them live and head towards the end or deeper spots of the pier. Fish them on bottom super close to the pilings. I used to kill the mangrove snapper doing this and occasional keeper trout and flounder. Pretty much had to be a live bait. Used to use the little glow in the dark shad and occasional small spoon or spinner for trout.

Seems like the place I used to go was Hunts castle

That's one fish I've never caught mangroves. That would be cool

They fight great and eat better! No size or bag limits on them either. Good luck!

Small hooks and pieces of fresh dead shrimp are great for the mangroves too.

Well. Last night lots of small specs and one 18 incher. Today went to a public beach pier and lost a huge flounder. Didn't have a net an tried to flip him and he straightened the hook. Caught some lady fish and a rat red also. Gonna hit the dock lights again tonight.
