What size generator would I need to power a well?

fixing to close on 10 acres in Burnet county. raw land with a well / bladder tank on it. I want to do some cedar burning(already cleared and pushed up piles).

I'd like to have water in the event it is necessary...

so ... what size generator would i need to power the well? is it even feasible ?

1 1/2 horse motor bout 230 feet down.

    thanx folks

Internet wisdom suggests anything greater than 3500 running watts and has a 30a/220v plug should be fine. It's likely going to draw about 1200 watts running and about 2.5x that to start. Of course that will limit what else can be plugged in and running at the same time. Again, not my wisdom, but that of the interwebs. Others with more practical and real world experience may have better info.
