I utilize the templates on word.

Find one you like... don’t be afraid to fluff it up a bit!

in my job i look at a lot of resumes and i will tell you from experience. Just list what position you are looking for, a little about what you think you can bring to the table at said company and list in bullet point some strengths. IE. Electrical, Microsoft word, Management skills.... so forth and so on, List around 10 to 15 years of job experience and list your qualifications and schooling and you should be good to go. You can find templates on word like listed above. Also fluff like crazy but don't lie lol there is a difference, 90% of the people that lie to us don't realize we actually do verify job history and skills. Good luck man

PS. The biggest thing i can tell you is spell check....not saying you cant spell heck i cant spell but man i hate reading resumes where they didn't even take the time to use spell check!

Thanks! Is there any way you can send me a sample? Obviously with no personal info and such. I tend to be more of a visual learner.

One way to pad your resume is to read the job description in the posting and fit your resume to it any way you can without falsifying information. And like above, spell check.

Agreed ( except on the fluff part ). It may be different for me since my trade is so...."blue collar" but for me spelling was a constant issue. Not that spelling really matters for a machinist, but I saw it as a lack of attention to detail ( critical for machinists ). As far as fluff, I didnt want to read a bunch of bull. Tailor it to the job you are applying for, for skills and knowlege that is pertinent to what you will be doing.

Google resume examples, it’s a good starting point.

I’ll clarify my definition of fluff.

Do not lie. I repeat, DO NOT LIE! Lol

Just don’t be afraid to list details of your work experience. For example, certifications you obtained while working at a place (bucket truck operator, scaffold inspection etc.)

Stuff you may find trivial, they may really want!

Also, as stated from someone else, read the description of the job completely and make sure you add things that fit their description.

It has been a while since I updated but I think the website was “resumenow.com” after putting in all of your info you could click through the different styles and formats and it would put your info in them. I remember it being only a few bucks to build a resume. Might be worth looking at.
