DXT...Drenalin...Switchback - What are the differences?

I have an old Mathews bow(97 model Feathermax). I am thinking about upgrading to a newer model… around an 07 or 08 model.

Is the switchback just an earlier version of the DXT / Drenalin?

I had thought the DXT was a version of the Drenalin, but it seems it is own bow.

What are the major differences, if any about the two? I shoot 28” draw and 60# limbs.

    Thanx folks.

the switchback is basically the same as the current S2 bow. The drenalin has a completely different riser, limbs and limb bolts. the DXT is the same bow with a much shorter Axle to Axle. tech specs can be found at:

if you can find a shop that has all 3 I suggest shooting them all and finding out which one works best for your application. good luck.

The Drenaline and DXT are both slim limbs, and the DXT is really light and small. It's rare that you speak to the owner of either who isn't just flat out in love with their bow. They're fast, flat, and smooth as country butter.

I love my Switchback XT. It has some meat to it and is verrrrry quiet. I shot both the others and didn't see any reason to change. Good Luck

Is the switchback still being made or has it been replaced by the S2?

I don't need real fast, fast is good... but I like smoothe and quiet better.

the switchback has been discontinued, and replaced by the S2. You can find some good deals on used ones. I got the S2, and really like it. I didnt like the DXT because of the short ATA.

The SB XT is one of their finest bows. It's ain't the fastest but everything else considered, they make up for that 1 flaw...

For those of you who don't like the short A2A of the DXT because of the "loss of accuracy and forgiveness" shoot it more than once. If you're not sold I'll be shocked. It's smooth, fast, and quiet, and very accurate (forgiving).

I have seen many posts about owning one, and those who do love them - including me. It makes shooting fun.

I bought a used 05' Switchback on Archery talk several months ago(heard all positive things about it) and Like the wall and cam rollover much better than the Outback I use to own.
Lots of DXT's over there for sale if that says anything, not alot of Switchback's or Outback's.
                            Good Luck!
