Tobacco Age Goes Up

Nicotine don’t kill you it’s the tobacco that does. A lot of people don’t understand that I think. They’ll never ever outlaw tobacco because they make too much money on taxes from it. A can of Copenhagen snuff is over 6 bucks here sometime over 7 depending on the place. But I do believe inhaling tobacco is worse than it being in your gums. You don’t hear near as many people having cancer from snuff as you do cigarettes. I know a lot of people who dip and don’t know anyone personally who got cancer from it. But know a lot of people that are in horrible shape due to smoking.

The only thing so far Abbott has done that I don't agree with.

Originally posted by Sleepy View PostI disagree. Not saying they won’t be able to find it, but I do believe it will make it more difficult. It’s too easy for a senior in high school to buy up tobacco products for younger folks. I don’t know a lot of 18 year olds with 21 year old friends. If it hadn’t been for the seniors, I’d have never gotten my snuff as I didn’t know anyone much older than high school. I think the biggest impact will be less tobacco in schools. It will still be there, but I think it will be a lot more challenging than it used to be.
I think if anything, the age might have been bumped to 19-20. At least get the legal age out of high school for the most part.

I'm glad to see them raise the tobacco age no a problem here at all.Last edited by Jcjohnson; 06-12-2019, 10:21 AM.

Absolutely ridiculous law in my eyes. I don’t partake in the usage of it, but I think it’s insane that at 18 years old they will let you take out a student loan for hundreds of thousands of dollars, go to war, pay taxes, purchase a firearm, drive a vehicle and so may other adult responsibilities, but a young adult can’t make the choice of tobacco for themselves? Completely Asinine
