Speed Trap

This weekend I had Google Maps synced with Android Auto for navigation. I usually have the volume turned down, but this time it was up and I heard her say something I had never heard before, "speed trap ahead". How does Google Maps know where their running radar?

It has an option for individuals to report them, update them, etc.

People share it when they see a speed trap or anything.
Like Waze, which I think Google owns now
