    Brushog blade removal question?

Am I better off cutting these right now rather than fight them? I don’t have a 3/4 impact.

I did that, but I leaned on it pretty good an it made the whole bolt turn a little. I was gonna weld a piece of angle across the backs of the bolts to keep from turning. But it was really starting to look like a time to cut them and get new when I get blades.

Just thought I’d check...all the old guys I would call and ask are in bed.

I take them off with a 3/4" breaker bar or ratchet. I do not remove the stump jumper(s) to take off the blades though, that's just extra work.

I would try heating the nut up first. I've had luck heating up red hot then cooling quickly with water then hitting it with an impact.

This worked for me after struggling with a couple. Pretty sure the bolts should have splines on them to keep from turning.

I've heard melting a candle into the threads.

                      Nuts are on top.

I welded the backs and leaned on it wit a 3/4” ratchet and 4’ Chester pipe and couldn’t budge it. They get the torch tomorrow.

I live in northwest wise co. I can swing by and get it off on way home from work if you like.

FYI Most shredders have access holes in the top of the deck to remove the blades/bolts without having to take off stump jumper, I know mine do.
